Didn't Age Well....

This film is fun! I remember seeing this film in the movie theater when it came out, and I remember liking the film then as well. The only gripe I have now is the simple fact that the special effects... While they may have been sufficient in 1985... Now the film looks dated. but that's no one's fault, really.
On the plus side... You can find this on crystal clear blu-ray, for one dollar @ your local Dollar Tree!
Overall, a very nice film.

Trust me,

My, you're nosey, aren't you?

although the film came out in in early 85 , the filming+special effects were done in 84,
other films in the 80's that the special effects still hold up are ,some bit's of Tron, ET,Starman, Back to the future, 2010: The Year We Make Contact, The Last Starfighter, Blade runner,Weird Science, Ghostbusters, I'm just naming few films that still hold up effects wise that was around in the 80's before this came out and in same year-was goin to put ones after 85 but was just making a point as this had a lower budget then the films I have mentioned so it wasn't the era of 84/85

Aged or not I just think its a flat out bad film.

It's not very good but it's odder than it should be. It's too cutesy for adults but then it's surprisingly violent for a family picture; one guy gets an arrow to the neck onscreen. And the special effects may had been okay in the eighties (sufficient is too generous) they are just bad. However the score by Jerry Goldsmith is actually pretty damn good.
