American Ninja Fans

I think this is the best of the American made Ninja movies. I wish Dudikoff would have had a better career. He's got the strong/silent thing down pretty well.

this is definitely the best of the american ninja movies.
the sequel is little more lighthearted but still pretty good, but once david bradley took over, it was over.
the only cool thing was when michael came back for a small role in i think the fourth movie.

The first time i've seen this Movie I was just about 9 or 10 yrs old (93/94) and had no problem with this movie. And now I see why I've never seen this movie on "amazon.de" ...because it's rated 18. I donno if you do know that it's illegal in germany to sell 18+ stuff via internet. It's legal when your age is proven but that's technicaly to complicated for online shops...so you've to have a lucky day to find what ya searching for in real shops out there in the real world...

back to the topic...I've seen this movie 10-15 times and it's still one of my favorite one. the second part is allright too, but the following sequels ain't someone. I mean in the first part he's a silent, shoe ripping, buckle battling ninja and in the 4th movie he's teaching kids, common...

I can't remember if I did know what's a Ninja before I've seen this movie...

Oh...did you know?...In Germany this Movie is called "American Fighter"...excellent translation...

I wouldn't exactly commend Dudikoff for being great actor, but there is something about him I like. Every time I go to the video store and I see his name on the box art, I seem compelled to rent it (or buy it if the price is right). I also really liked Steve James as Dudikoff's main bud and its a shame he passed away. As for the AM series, I prefer Part 2 more. Its just more lighthearted and more silly though I like AM part 1 almost just as much.

I wish MGM would also release parts 4 & 5 on DVD, perhaps in a double feature as they did with parts 2 & 3. Maybe someday....

Yeah, the first American Ninja movie is the best definitely. And I'm glad I've seen it when I was young and stupid, when I couldn't see the difference from real and not real, cheesy or not cheesy. It looked awesomely real back in my time. It gave me so much joy to see ninjas. For some Rambo was the hero, for me it was Joe Armstrong. I was looking up to him with admiration, I wanted to grow up like him and kick some butt. I think this movie will stay as the warmest memories for those who seen it when growing up.

yeah its so great to be a part of the group of people who grew up on these great films. it's like we all agree they are the warmest memories when thinking back. totally sublime i think.

This is still one of my favourite childhood movies, I remember renting it at least once a week. The only other 80's ninja movie to rival it would have to be Revenge Of The Ninja, another classic.

I just watched this the other day, and it's still good. I like how the main character is something different compared to other Ninja movies. Doesn't look like he could kick your ass, barely talks. And Steve James just brings the movie to another level.

Rocky VI must happen! Sean Penn said so!
