Another overlooked Scorsese Film

I find it interesting how many good films of Scorsese's are completely overlooked and or forgotten. I understand it is a fun goofy little film without big name stars, but what makes this film be basically fogotten by the world, or did I answer it in my question? I would think the name Scorsese should be enough for a film to stay out of obscurity.

My dad used to characterize this film similarly as you, as a "romp." I would always get so angry at him belittling what for me was a really engaging, hilarious, at times very moving film.

It's a pity that this and films like Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore live in the shadows of Scorsese's gangster movies. I notice that After Hours was completely ignored in Scorsese's Inside The Actors Studio interview. What I could forget, though, was New York New York. It sucked (and Liza Minelli makes my skin crawl).

I think this is an underrated masterpiece, and many common people haven't even heard of this movie.

Hey anyone know what does Scorsese himself think of this film?

It's not really overlooked. Pretty much everyone knows about this film who was around when it was made.

I had forgotten all about it. Someone mentioned it, I checked it out. How PLEASED I was.

I did not remember hardly anything, it was like watching a brand new movie

Had to look and see who'd posted what about After Hours. It's one of the few comedies I've thought was funny. Dark humour to be sure, but very funny.

Glad you got a chance to watch it again, and enjoy it.
