Her Pilgrim Soul

I remember this episode these two scientists druge up a hologram of an item first a ball then a fetus then baby then a little girl and finally an adult as gary coles character goes home to life outside of work the other Kristopher tambor is having marital problems at home especially not wanting to give his wife children he spends his time at the lab getting to know the hologram and grows closer to her she tells him her story about how she met and married a man who her parents warned her not to marry and if she did she would be disinherited she married the man wrote to her parents which led to her being disinherited. Then she told the scientist how she lost one baby and died having another. Out of curiousity he spoke to an elderly former friend of the couple who told the scientist after she died having a baby her husband had severe guilt believing he killed her. He goes back to talk to the hologram and who he spoke to and she remembered why she came back, its revieled the scientist was her husband in his last life and that was why he refused to give his wife children. He still had guilt over the her death in childbirth.
After the hologram and scientists confrontation he leaves the room upset the hologram with her mind dials the phone sounding like the scientist and tells his wife to come to the office when scientist and his wife meet the hologram turns into a ball and bounces towards the couple he picks up the ball and looks at it with surprise it was a way of the hologram telling him it will be different this time for him for the better.

Yes- this was an absolutely beautiful episode. Whenever people put down the 1980's reboot of the Twilight Zone, I suggest they view this episode. Every time I see it I cry.

I went into the series completely blind, I would never have had the impulse to watch the Twilight Zone, but by some random chance one night I stumbled on 'Her Pilgrim Soul' the first episode I ever saw. Fair to say after the episode concluded that I was committed to watching every episode of the series. I fear maybe I'm like a heroin junkie now, chasing his first great high in vain, never able to duplicate it.
