Thundercats Origins

This should be an 'origins' type movie with it loosely based on the episode "The Ghost Warrior", featuring Grune The Destroyer. It should start with events on Thundera where Grune and Jaga are allies (as in Cheetara's flashback during the episode).

That'd be interesting, because-and correct me if I'm wrong-the series never really got into much of the origins of the Thundercats. By doing that, they left a heck of a lot of it up to fans and fanon. I've seen at least one fic that places their origins on Second Earth, as experiments that eventually escaped and another fic that has a different idea.

There have been many things explained pertaining to Thundercats, but in my opinion one person who really deserves some explanation to his past is Mumm-Ra himself. We barely know anything about him except that he's a mummy with powers. We need to know more about him.

Mumm-ra origins re: Lion-o's Anointment Final Day: The Trial of Evil. Watch it, there's information in the episode.

Thought the live-action Thundercats was coming out next week?

Avatar A.K.A. Blue Thundercats! lol.

Seriously, film reviewers from our generation are calling James Cameron's Avatar that now. Wonder how many references to T-Cats will be made of Avatar, once its seen after its general release next week.

Wait and see.

I think it was originally supposed to come out next year, but it's been pushed to 2012.

Long as the producers i.e. Warner Brother know it better be animated something like 'Final Fantasy 7 Advent Children' in terms of it being excellent. I don't want to see Astroboy style animations or TMNT the CGI movie cartoony looking T-Cats. Cos then it'll be pants!

Live-action T-Cats, i'm not sold on. Until i see what they can do with a revived Conan feature, Red Sonja or Masters Of The Universe live-action Movie. Thundercats is a harder creation to get right i reckon.

We'll see soon though.

Moftat describes him as a "Devil-Priest".

Of course, with all the however many thousands of years, there's inconsistencies with Mumm-Ra's age in the series. The early episodes imply that he's only about 1000yrs old. "Dimension Doom" refers to Mumm-Ra's old conflict with Wiz-Ra saying the latter was banished and could only return to Third Earth every 7000yrs. Implying he's at least 14000yrs old.

He could be at least 7000 years old and as old as 14000 years. The problem with the writers is that they didn't go back and look at specific scripts to get details on characters.

It's inevitable whenever multiple writers work on a series, details get mixed up. I guess that's why the Okudas tried to maintain continuity on Star Trek with The Star Trek Encyclopedia.

Plot holes are probably the oldest device in the printed word. I'm glad to see that there's people who try for continuity. Good on them.

Another example of good continuity-keeping would be Babylon 5 - creator Joe Straczynski wrote down the entire backstory in detail before the series began. And of course he wrote about 3/4 of the episodes himself anyway, so he was able to keep things matching.

On the flip-side, "Only Fools & Horses" is famed for its continuity errors with numbers. The new prequel, "Rock & Chips" has already put more fuel on this fire (it only aired last night!). Del & Rodney's respective ages go up and down a bit all through the series!
