Better Hunter. Lynxana or Safari Joe
Who was the better Hunter from the thundercats Lynxana or Safari Joe
shareWho was the better Hunter from the thundercats Lynxana or Safari Joe
shareInteresting this is asked, seeing as one only appeared in the comic books by Marvel comics and the other (Joe) appeared in the actual TV series.
Lynxana probably is the better hunter. As she not only captured the Thundercats (barring Lion-O) but is also one of them as both a Thunderian herself and an Ex-ThunderCat. Unlike Safari Joe she isn't a coward but an extremely bitter Thunderian with a deep seated grudge, making her better fleshed out and complexed overall!
Both possessed sophisticated futuristics weapons, but Lynxana takes the battle to you in open combat if necessary, and is a proven swordswoman! Safari Joe only seemed to be perfectly suited to keep his prey at a distance with his blaster rife, but is most adapt at laying traps for opponents though, as the same can be said for Lynxana.
Lynxana is just begging to be put into the next incarnation version of ThunderCats though, whether she be animated 2D style or CGI 3D etc.

Superturbo4 i agree. Lynxana when heads up with lion-o to a draw. The question is could tygra hold its own against Lynxana. She is the best at her job. Another question for you is if tygra turns invisble can he still used his bolo whip against Lynxana

That's a question that seems to have different answers depending on which episodes you watch - in the early episodes, Tygra "just turned invisible", it wasn't until "The Time Capsule" (I think) that this feat was accomplished by the use of his whip for the first time. In "The Trouble With Thunderkittens", Wilykat attempts to use the whip to make himself invisible, but fails.
As for the use of his whip while invisible, "Mumm-Rana" suggests no, it's still just wrapped around him, while "Monkian's Bargain" has him and Monkian both invisible, using the whip and a crossbow respectively to fight - and actually, Tygra is the only one who is really able to hold his own against Monkian in that episode - all the other Thundercats are bested easily, but Tygra is only beaten because the Kittens pull the bridge in, and he has a moment of bad luck. If the Kittens had left them to it, Tygra would probably have managed to hold his own - but the Lion-O-centric format of the show dictated . . . you know.
To this day its a surprise the Early Marvel-*Star* brand line comics did so beautifully well scripted stories. way moreso than DC tried to do much later on. Many of them including the storyarc with Lynxana could've been actual ThunderCats episodes for real.
Ones besides this storyline are the Hammerhand and the Berserkers attacking the fishing village, and the storyarc with Panthro and the cursed Warrior Maiden (prior to the 'search for Jaga' storyline involving Lynxana first appearence) all excellent series episode worthy stories.
