Voice actor Matthew Mercer as the new Tygra!

So whats the reaction of this latest piece of news then T-Cats fans!

Larry Kenny as Claudis now news of this Matthew Mercer as Tygra. While Lion-O was the main protagonist and we had Panthro and Cheetara in there too, Tygra was my favorite Thundercat however. Intelligent, agile, could leap the highest (until Pumyra came along) and could turn "Invisible" (An exaggeration of a Tiger's ability to camouflage in grassy areas in the wild etc). All the original characters were cool, and Tygra was voiced with charm and authority by Peter Newman previously.

Well now, looks like this new guy going into the role. And damn he's younger than me, lol. Makes you think with him getting the role, i wish a fan like myself and others in my age group, could be apart of the new show from the production side of things ya know (name a fan who doesn't have a T-Cats story in their heads to tell?) Hmmm he's done a variety of voiceover parts already in anime productions, as well as several video games. Damn didn't know he was Fei-Long in SF4 (Street Fighter 4) until now and the recent brand new Metal Gear Solid game!

I'm assuming this isn't premiering until fall 2011... which is why new information has been scarce to non-existent.

Wow, he's done some high profile video game work. I'm not really into anime, so none of those titles ring a bell.

He's a voice actor, so age really doesn't matter, but his being 28 makes you think they might be trying to make this skew slightly younger.

Perhaps sounding alot younger or different from 'Peter Newman's Tygra is all? Long as that piece of news of the new series being made by 'Studio 4' in Japan is accurate, reckon it'll have a darker look and feel as they'e been saying, too.

P.S.

Ironically enough at 4:45 with the scene involving SF's C.Viper, near her wall are posters inwhich toy figures of Lion-O and Tygra appear on the bookcase. Can't keep those ThunderCats out of anything, lol.
