First Pic of the New Cartoon!

My bad. The excitement got the best of me.

Was about to post the 2nd pic.

Oh gawd, that looks suspiciously like a gun in Tygra's hand - and they're trying to turn Cheetara into Lara Croft . . . even rhymes, Cheetara Croft. I have a bad feeling about this.

I really, really hope those are some fan artist renditions and not official because it would be more like a really bad dream. Pantrho has male pattern baldness and is blind in one eye, Tygra has a gun, and Cheetara looks like a hooker. Ugh.

- The story over @ Entertainment Weekly said it best; "Cheetara has traded bad 80's hair for bad Ke$ha hair" .

- Lion-O is too androgynous looking.

- Panthro... male pattern baldness and muttonchops. Huh.

- Tygra fares the best of the group IMO.

But the designs are clean and well rendered. We'll see.

Well it's a far cry from the really early promo pic, which looked Frank Frazetta-esque, but I'll say pretty much the same thing I said over at the Thundercats 2011 board: I can live with how Panthro, Tygra & Cheetara look, the only design I'm not really digging is Lion-O's. I don't know if it's like superturbo suggested and this is some sort of "pre-hero" design that will then be replaced with a more familiar Arnold Schwarzenegger type design, but I'm crossing my fingers & hoping that whatever happens design wise the writing and voice acting will be strong enough to overcome whatever displeasure we may have with the designs.
