IT was green lit but I was wondering if there was any animation out. The one image I saw looked pretty good and Dark. A lot of anime design put in it. Is there any other pictures available?
Nope nothing yet so we're all in the same boat, we are all waiting for something new about it to drop and come out online i guess!
For the record, i think the He-Man 2002 series reboot was far superior than the original 1983 series. Cos it was closer to its original *source materials* and was outright a darker version of what the 80's one should've been like. Its only failing was being cancelled for a multitude of silly reasons and because Mattel couldn't sell enough of the toys and collectibles based on the He-Man/Masters line, so the animated series suffered as a result and was canned.
If Warners Brothers have learned anything from the He-Man reboot's demise, then i hope the new series makes some rather vast improvements and doesn't suffer the same fate. Being a series first and foremost and simply having a toyline and collectibles after it would be a far better business practice for Warners to develop! Because too many decent 80's animated series classics suffered the reverse and relied heavily on the toys selling as well as gaining the much needed TV ratings; Bravestarr, Galaxy Rangers, The Centurions, The Bionic 6. And didn't get a second season (although several might've had things been different?) Ratings still play a big issue in any TV shows remaining on screen today even, but hopefully an animated series will be more than just selling toys and will remain on cos its a success and is aired properly and isn't moved around too much by random to multiple networks (that He-Man suffered) due to constant re-scheduling etc.
Anime designs or not, i just hope the ThunderCats and Mumm-Ra in the new series, still retain their huge bulky muscular 'Sword & Sorcery', Sci-Fi/Fantasy appearence and that the animation is cleaner in HD and has shades of the designs and movement seen in the classic 80's series, but with a modern updated touch is all.

This. I'm dying for an updated version of my childhood favorite.

I'd add "Visionaries" to that list, and possibly the same applies to "Defenders Of The Earth".
Of course, on the other hand, getting a second season means changes, and some shows can stray too far from their roots, as Thundercats ultimately did.
Visionaries sadly only had 13 episode but yeah its a sorely missed out show that would've thrived moreso if it got a second season. And as of late, radio and TV cable shows have recently addressed old cartoon shows of the 80's. Certainly proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that the 80's period had an unbelievable era of animated series that have lasted this long in terms of being seen as the all-time best cartoon half hour TV shows.
The 90's weren't too bad either, but they all pale in comparison to the 80's era of animated shows!

Maybe, maybe not - there was a planned second-wave toyline, and it had more characters than the original had. That would have swamped the show if they'd had too many characters.
If they'd had a second season without any new characters, now that would have been great. I'm actually working on some Visionaries fan fiction at the moment, that, if I may be permitted to blow my own trumpet, would have made a worthy episode. I'll let you know when it's uploaded.

Quite. The 90s had "The Legend Of Prince Valiant" - the only US show I saw that had real long-term story arcs and proper character development. Of course, that was 1991, so you could almost count it as an 80s show.
Need to track down the old 'The Legend Of Prince Valiant' DVD's of the BCI sets, which sadly no longer operates anymore. Man that company really did put out great DVD's of classic 70's/80's/90's toons (although they suffered from mastering glitches/errors somewhat?). But yeah i really liked Prince Valiant, excellent series.

'Gargoyles' was another 90's series i do believe which was fantastic!!!
Hell, basically any show that writer Michael Reeves worked on (Prince Valiant, Dungeons & Dragons, MOTU etc), was excellent.

Just be grateful it was released in your country at all! There was never a region 2 release. Similarly, "Defenders Of The Earth" only had a limited release on region 2, as opposed to the complete series on regions 1 & 4.
"Then again thats what "multi-region" DVD players are for!"
Which really begs the question of why we have different regional encoding anyway nowadays? I can understand originally, when there was a big timelag between releases in different parts of the world, but that delay is disappearing now.
Film are showing up on cable/satellite ALOT faster now after their theatrical showings, some even a mere 2 to 3 months surprisingly enough (low independent ones at least). I'd like to at least see the Blu-Ray's be region free as well. but some discs are known to not play in PAL/NTSC Blu-Ray players because of coding issues etc.
Good call! When I first picked up an old VHS of Thundercats back in early 2008, I was very worried about how I would react to it, notably the theme song. But I needn't have worried, it still worked! It shouldn't, but it does!
The new MOTU was the only remake of the 00's that I actually enjoyed. I still prefer the original because I could never get used to the modern animation but I loved how they filled in the back stories of the characters and gave them more personality.
Almost the same deal with the new Thundercats, nothing can touch it animation-wise imo but hopefully in terms of character development they will be able to equal the original. Though Thundercats holds up a lot better than the original MOTU in my opinion.
Try not to take life too seriously, no one gets out alive.
