Am I the only one who is completely freakin' creeped out by this? It's like it has complete power over them. Like an evil motherfücking force, as far as I am concerned.
I have more of problem with, when Lion-O uses the catchphrase, the obstacles the others are facing which just seconds before were insurmountable, suddenly become a piece of cake. "Mechanical Plague" and "Tight Squeeze" are two classic examples of this. Conversely, "Mongor" and "Safari Joe" are refreshing in that the others aren't able to escape their bonds just like that.
Well, that's an issue as well, but creepy? No. I find this very disturbing, especially considering it's a children's show. But I guess a child wouldn't see the horror in being mindless.
They do take on a certain kids-at-a-rave-after-dropping-Ecstasy look at that moment. Maybe they should replace the Thundercats theme with Sandstorm http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ejm6jn9AFA0 and make the Sword of Omens a giant glowstick.
On a slightly more serious note, I can't say I ever found it creepy. I don't think they become mindless so much as of one mind.
