Thundercats Exodus – Extended Edition

Yup thats right seems the classic T-Cats series got a grand "fan edit" that extends the original pilot episodes (Exodus, Unholy Alliance, The Berbils, Slaves of Castle Plundarr, Pumm-Ra etc?) into movie format without the previous hiccups apparently along with the VHS tape extended scenes also included within the running time.

See for yourselves.

Edits done by a editor named 'Booshman' who's more famed for his brilliant Superman (Donner films) extended cuts fan edits.

Hmm, i've wanted to do an edit of my own like this, with the VHS scenes as "deleted scenes" though and shown as supplemental material on a DVD menu for example? Didn't know the editor here might've upscaled the resolution quality somewhat of the VHS scenes to make'em more watchable however?

Sounds incredible and i'm glad love for the old classic series is shown here with this fan edit.

The added/modified content seems to include the following;...

* Thundercats “Lost Intro” (restored).

* Thundercats talk on the space ship before fetching Lion-o (restored).

* Tygras line about the Eye of Thundera being a myth (restored).

* Cheetara identifies the mutants by their ship insignias (restored).

* The mutants talk before boarding the Thundercats space ship (restored).

* Jaga confronts some reptilian mutants (restored).

* Slithe threatens Lion-o in the sword chamber (restored).

* Panthro talks about looking for a new planet to live on (extended).

* Jaga piloting the ship to third earth (extended).

* Liono-o trying to remeber the contents of the suspension capsules before confronting the mutants (restored).

* Wily Kit and Wily Kat fight the mutants before they transport back to their ship (restored).

* Scene with the mutants exploring third earth in their ship prior to meeting Mumm-Ra (not removed).

* Sub-plot about the Giantors and the Trollogs from “Berbils” (not removed).

* Mid episode cliffhangers (removed).

* Unecessary start and end credits (removed).

* Footage of Panthro using his nun-chucks (restored). Edited out of the UK episodes but present on the DVD, 99% of the removed “violence” has been edited back in.

* 2 instances of misframing have been corrected.

Sounds very intriguing, and i wonder how it works as a standalone re-edit once viewed.

Once i've seen it maybe i should finally sign up to fanedit.org and give a review or sorts who knows to be sure. This certainly is inspiring to get others to make their own edits as it were.

Any shared thoughts upon the news of this edit at all?

Hmmm, interesting find, Turbo. I had no idea there was extra footage out there; 9 minutes according to the site. I wonder if there's extra footage from the "Thundercats, ho!" movie out there as well?

Hiya flukey whats up!

I have the european ThunderCats Ho movie on tape from all those years ago way back in the late 80's or so (it still works too). And it differs from the 5 part episode version and seemingly had extra footage i.e. extended footage of bit that were cut out. So i'd say yes, ThunderCats HO if you've seen only the movie version does have missing sequences from the 5 part version in say comparison to the movie cut.

But just mere lines of dialogue and a few extended scenes here and there nothing too major mind you?

Hope that answers your questions player!
