ITV Cancellation

I heard a little while ago that when Streethawk was originally screened on British TV in the Eighties by ITV that it was cancelled after just 8 shows due to poor viewing figures.

Is this right?! Were the remaining 5 shows never transmitted on terrestrial TV or did it take many years until they were? I remember this show as vividly as Knight Rider and The A-Team from when I was a kid so surely I can't have just seen a few episodes from its first and only run?

Any help would be really appreciated fellow fans...

Correct, Bravo on Sky did show all 13 epsiodes around five years ago on a special "Street Hawk" weekend (including the pilot movie featuring Christopher Lloyd).

However, I still don't get either how it could have been so unpopular in the Eighties nor how I (and many of my friends of the same age) can all remember it so well if it was only on so briefly 20 years ago...!

Once again Bravo TV here in the UK did show this and anyone purchasing any dvds off ebay would notice the BRAVO logo. I personally loved this show when i aproached Bravo about showing it again they said they wouldnt because it wasnt very popular!

I remember ITV Granada repeating the series in early 1988. It was on every Saturday morning, but I don't know whether they showed every single episode or not. I certainly remember one episode where Jesse protects a female novelist from a killer and another where he feels responsible for a fellow cop's death.

It would be so nice if Universal could release this series on DVD, including the pilot episode and some commentaries would be nice, too.
