The Emmy Awards are a JOKE

Anyone who has ever seen this movie, even once, knows it should have been nominated for a Best Miniseries Emmy. I mean, if you look at all its other nominations(and surprisingly, only one win- for costumes), it just boggles your mind! It's one of my personal favorites, and lots of other people feel the same. Actually it's one of the highest-rated miniseries ever made. Not surprising. That's why I say the Emmy Awards are a total joke. The people on the committee probably get paid under the table to vote for certain ones by the companies that make the series. It's just not fair to those who produce quality work, like North and South.

The same thing happened to Lonesome Dove, only a few years after this one aired. I think everybody at the Awards (and everybody watching at home) KNEW Lonesome Dove would win Best Miniseries. But once again....politics intervened with good television, and they gave it to War and Remembrance, instead. Oh, yes, and while I'm going on about it...Robert Duvall lost the Best Actor in a Miniseries Emmy to another guy. His 'GUS MCCRAE' character was flawless! Everybody who watched the show agreed. He was cheated on that one, I can tell you.
