Semiramis and Charles: Why didnt they go further?

I always wished they had gone into further detail with that realtionship. It always intriguided me. Am I alone?

I think it was just one of the storylines that could be summed up with just one scene. Charles was also getting around with Smith's cousin at that time too so he didn't seem too serious about Semiramis.

I really liked both characters but Charles always seemed to be a guy who never wanted to be tied down. Anything between Semiramis and Charles could not really go anywhere so I guess that's why it was omitted.

It was sad because Semiramus was really in love with Charles. In Book II, when Semiramus was alone in Brett's room, she picked up a picture of Charles and smiled at it so wistfully. Then later Ezra accuses her of being in love with Charles, who will never return her feelings. It took Semi a long time to fall in love with Ezra but he was really much better for her than Charles.

probably racial diffrences and semirames loved charles more then he did her

Er...dosen't any realize Charles was about 10?

nonami18: Charles was ten in the book, but not in miniseries. They cut a bit of the beginning of the book out of miniseries.

It didn't really matter to me that they didn't go further but I thought it looked really awkward at the end of N&S II. The scene after Appomattox when the family is in the parlor room (before the attack by Cuffey, Salem Jones and the rest) and everyone is there- Billy And Brett; Ezra and Semiramis; and Charles. It's just so wierd when two people you've been involved with are in the same room at the same time.

Charles and Semiramis had sex in the Book. But in the books Semiramis wasn't an important character like in the Mini. I don't remember anyway.
