I am very new at the whole message board thing, but I was wondering who out there is die hard north and south fans?
I discovered this mini-series when I was a child and I will still proclaim it as my all time favorite movie. Most of the time when I say that people reply "what movie is that??".
It would be nice to hear from people who share the love and appreciation for the film like I do!

I also watched it when i was a kid, and just recently taped it from the tv and have been watching it all again. I thought it would date but it hasn't its still great and the characters are all good.

I know what you mean about the "what movie is that?" question. I've mentioned it to lots of people, and while some actually remember it, most have never even heard of it.
shareI think I'm firmly in that category as well. This came out while I was in elementary school. Because of the movie I read Heaven and Hell while as a 5th grader, then again when I was a bit older. I have read the novels a few times and completely wore out my TimeLife video collection. I bought the DVDs the first chance I got and even own a still factory-sealed back-up set just in case.
Of interest, Audible.com has just released unabridged versions North and South and Love and War to their library and fairly cheap as well. I'm almost done with Book I and can't wait to start Book II.
The mini-series and the book trilogy are simply magically for me. John Jakes has given me a gift for a lifetime.
