Worst Guest Star?

Now, I like NORTH AND SOUTH (Well, I like BOOK ONE). I think (the first) as one of my favorite TV mini-series. But I also like THE GREATEST STORY EVER TOLD, and that had John Wayne as the Centurion.

So, what do you think was the worst/silliest/miscast guest star in the trilogy? My pick is either Johnny Cash as John Brown or Wayne Newton as the sadistic prison commandant Vesey.

I think both were quite good in the capacity of their roles. I can't really think of any guest actors in the entire series that were miscast...maybe Chris Burke in Book III.

And who is Commandant Vesey? Wayne Newton played Captain Tucker.

My pardon. I was going by the novel. Same character, different name. Like saying Philip Casnoff played Lamar Powell or David Ogden Stiers portrayed Sam Stout.

Wayne Newton. Not that he was bad, but I just kept hearing the song "Danke Schoen" in my head whenever he was on-screen.

"Joey, have you ever been in a Turkish prison?"
