This was her finest performance - if she wasn't nominated for any award then this was a serious injustice! By far, the most powerful actor in this series.
shareI don't know if she was nominated or not, but I agree, she was excellent as Virgilia. My other favorite performer from this is Philip Casnoff as Bent, especially in the 3rd movie he turned in an excellent performance, unfortunately because the book it's based on is not that good, that movie wasn't well received.
I guess it's a testament to Kirstie's talent and charisma that she's done very well for herself in her career.
