Why is channel 5 keeping home and away but getting rid of neighbours?

I don't know why I care I havnt seen an episode for 20 years.

Apparently to spend the money on new content in the UK. I've never watched it but I can remember the fuss about it at the peak.

It wasn't bad back in the day, but I was 13 and the ladys were hot, it takes more to keep me gripped these days.
