Rona Barrett episode

I'm re-watching all of the episodes of Moonlighting after not having seen them since they first aired. In season three, the episode The Straight Poop has entertainment reporter Rona Barrett trying to get Maddie and David to reconcile They'd been fighting, and because of this there have been no new episodes of Moonlighting - a nice metajoke in this clipshow of past episodes. But there are a couple of other REALLY funny metajokes as well: Director Peter Bogdanovich talking about how he dated Maddie for a short period immediately after he'd broken up with this other model who was, like Maddie, also from Memphis (a reference to Bogdanovich's longtime relationship with Cybill Shephard).

Then there's a brief appearance from Pierce Brosnan, who says, "Ah yes, Miss Maddie Hayes. Hell of a woman. You realized we seriously talked about going into business together at one time, but it didn't work out. I went in another direction." On IMDB it says that he's playing himself. However, I think he's actually playing his NBC detective character Remington Steele, making it that much more hilarious.

The show ends with bloopers and outtakes from past episodes during the closing credits.

That's hilarious. I don't remember that one. I didn't see all the episodes

I watched this one just last night. Yes, the Peter Bogdanovich and Pierce Brosnan bits were the best parts. I think that was the best I've ever seen Pierce Brosnan look, and that's saying something because he's no dog.

I'm really amazed how the show which seemed to struggle in production week after week was able to snag such famous people to make appearances. For instance, Orson Welles opened The Dream Sequence Always Rings Twice early in Season 2.
