Differences between 1985/1986 cartoons.

This was the best cartoon on tv when I was a kid. It was quite sophisticated and was obviously quality animation. The characters were well rounded and the interplay between Wicket/Kneesa/Teebo/Latara was quite subtle. Then they changed the style completely for season 2 and it started to suck. The stories became very simple and childish and the characters changed for the worse. Wicket became an annoying jerk, Teebo became a clumsy dork, Latara became... well, kind of slutty. Only Kneesa stayed pretty much the same. Why did it change? It definitely went downmarket, or maybe they just wanted a younger audience to hook kids who were too young to have seen the Star Wars movies yet.

BTW, the theme tune for the 1985 episodes is by Taj Mahal, is that the respected Blues musician? Sounds like it could be him.

"Latara became... well, kind of slutty"

LOL! HEE HEE! That hilarious! Yeah I agree that does sum how Litara went. The show did go downhill on the second series. I also preferred the original theme song. Ive never heard of Taj Mahal before

why did they have two different theme tunes ?.

The one i remember hearing,i'm from the uk.,was the theme tune from season 2.I don't remember the theme tune to season 1 being shown on tv at all.I know for a fact that i have seen episodes from both seasons though.

They definitely showed the cartoons with the season 1 theme on BBC1, because I remember I really liked that one and all of a sudden one week when I watched it, it had changed it to that awful second one.

Yes, I'm that old that I remember it. :P

I only remember the Season two theme for both seasons in the UK. Or perhaps that was just for the UK release of videos.

The second season was okay but I liked the first one better. Second season animation doesn't look as nice and I don't really like the the changes that they made to Wicket, Chief Chirpa, Teebo, Latara and Logray. And I never really Kneesaa's Season #2 voice, I prefer Cree Summer's take on her; though I'd like the Season #2 theme and the episode "Baga's Rival"
