Did anyone else not know this was from Star Wars?

This TV cartoon show was running on out TV channel (on one of totally 3 channels we had back then, 25 years ago) , when I was a kid, and I remember that I loved it.
I had no idea that Ewoks were a part of Star wars universe, or even that they are part of anything really.
I even saw the movie Ewoks (the first one) in about the same time, liked it too, still having no idea about Star wars. I was about 7 or 8 back then, and when I finally saw Star wars movies, when I was about 17 already, I was surprised when I saw Ewoks running around in "Empire strikes back" (then not yet called episode 6)

You are misremembering both the name of the cinematic episode and the numbering. Ewoks were in Episode VI Return of the Jedi. And the opening title has always said Episode VI. The only one that didn't have an episode number on initial release was the 1977 movie.
