Dot's speech at the end of yesterday's ep

Although a bit jarring for a 'duff duff', I loved those scenes of the millennial interviewing Dot. It was a perfect way to combine 1985 EastEnders and 2016 EastEnders. Dot is from the 'old ways' and her speech about how the world is moving on without her I thought was very moving. It really brought home what EastEnders is about - community, hard work, lending an ear etc. Dot going out for a cigarette at the end was also perfect.

EastEnders isn't exactly riveting at the moment with its storylines but it seems to be including scenes that are very relatable and subtle - Sonia going mad at the market about how women like her put everyone else first, Donna giving out about people abusing others with disabilities etc. I'm liking it, I think it's just what the show needs.

It was kind of cringeworthy but I like the scenes with Dot.

What I can't understand is why Dot was still working, she must be in her eighties!

 It's indie rock and roll for me 
