The final episode - possible spoiler?
My memory is playing up ... but how did the final series end? I vaguely remember Katherine Ross having been injured in an accident????

In the final episode, the theme was kidnappeing. Fallon is indeed kidnapped by aliens. Sable kidnaps her grandson Scott. Also, Phillip kidnaps Francesca and with Jason in pursuit, there is a car accident in the desert. Phillip is presumed dead and the scene ends with Jason cradling Francesca's seemingly lifeless body. Wow I was 15 when this aired in 87 and it seems like yesterday ;-)

I was a huge fan of the show. The finale was very good. When the series ended some of the characters then ended up on Dynasty. The main thing I didn't like was the fact that Jason wasn't the father of Monica and Miles. I always had sympathy for Sable and thought Francesca was the villain. She was a home wrecker and by the writers of Dynasty throwing in that Sable's kids were fathered by someone else made her as bad as Francesca. If anyone remembers, who was there father? I vaguely remember that it was Dex. I could be wrong. It was a long time ago.

I always had the feeling that the person who raped Sable was Cecil Colby. That last season of Dynasty, I THINK I remember Sable saying something bad about him or something hinting that he may have been the rapist.

I got an EERIE feeling that last season of DYNA$TY that the rapist could have been Roger Grimes, the way his ghost (and his handsome, grown son) haunted and taunted the women - Alexis, Fallon, trapping Kristina & Fallon in the caves.
That horny, reckless macho behaviour of Grimes could have been passed down to Miles Colby! Think about it.
This thread already has spoilers, but just to make sure... HERE IS A SPOILER WARNING. SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER. I am the walrus. SPOILERS FOLLOW -- NOT JUST FOR THIS SHOW BUT ALSO FOR THE SHOW "DYNASTY." YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.
Ok, now my question:
I seem to remember that in the last episode, Fallon was indeed abducted by aliens -- but then she and Jeff returned to Denver and were characters in the remaining episodes of Dynasty. How was this explained in the storyline of Dynasty? *Was* there a deliberate continuity gap between the end of The Colbys and the return of Fallon & Jeff to Dynasty?

OH MY GOD. Not even the aliens wanted poor fallon when they learned her story and left her alone wandering...until poor jeff found her and the two of them returned to denver in dynasty's 8th season (1987-1988).

Actually, I disagree that Fallon was abducted by aliens. If you actually watch the episode, it appears that Fallon WILLINGLY walked on board the spaceship. Was it mind control? Maybe. Or maybe she was just horny for some alien penis, LOL.
Anwyay, when Dynasty returned for its 8th season in the fall of 1987, they did explain the alein "abduction," sort of. The episode began with Jeff finding Fallon miles away from where her car was found. Fallon claims she was abducted by aliens, but Jeff doesn't believe her. Jeff calls her "Randall" thinking she's had amnesia again, but Fallon gets upset and says she's not crazy. The interesting thing Jeff notices is that Fallon's shoes are practically new and the bottom of the shoes untouched. If she had walked for miles from where she left her car, her heels would be torn up.
Later, Fallon goes to see her old psychiatrist, Dr. Parris, who confirms that she's not crazy. Jeff still doesn't believe her. Fallon confides to Steven, who believes her and Fallon joins a support group for survivors of alien abduction. This enrages Jeff further and he falls into an affair with Fallon's cousin, Leslie. The UFO storyline is then dropped, although the following season, when Sammy Jo and Fallon are fighting over Jeff, Sammy Jo mocks Fallon by bringing up her alien abduction story.
