Wasn't Bill just completely stupid to confront a Cop like that?

Even if the policeman was breaking the law (romance with an underage girl), shouldn't he have tried to report him or something instead?

He could have gotten shot by pulling that sh#t that he did, right?

I had to do the same thing once and it was before I even saw this movie. Small town cops think they can get away with anything

It's amazing as strait-laced and square as he was he had the cojones to confront the officer like that. But his cocky and smart-assed younger brother had the last laugh with that fireworks prank afterwards.

I think Bill had the last laugh. Stood up like a man. The younger brother would have been a perfect fit for today's underachieving youth. Blowing up statues and attacking cops - but always with no one around to see him. #Pussy

If a remake happened the cop would be forced to stand down like a pussy. Now everyone's a tough guy around cops. At least Bill confronted the cop without an angry mob to back him up. But his girl chose to go with the cop. Bill probably couldn't satisfy her. Not the cop's fault.
