Saw this for the first time, was a 90s kid not an 80s kid so this isn't a nostalgia thing. Wonderfully directed dark fantasy, with themes of reading and imagination and wonder and innocence. And that soundtrack...

An absolutely amazing, brilliant film and definitely one of the very best films of the 80’s. I love it.
