best movie of my childhood, bar none
Other movies were good, even great but none were close to TNS.

I was a child when this came out too, and I must agree it was truly epic.
It left a profound impact on me after leaving the theater.
Even though it was animated, I must say The Last Unicorn had an even deeper impact. I've never heard such a soundtrack to any film such as this one, before or SINCE.
The story itself was breathtaking & novel.
"I'd say this cloud is Cumulo Nimbus."
"Didn't he discover America?"
"Penfold, shush."
TLU was kinda scary to me as a child. Maybe more weird than scary. I have yet to rewatch, also i've owned the dvd for like 10 years. Maybe i'll get around to it one of these days.

I watched this movie first when i was probably 12 or 13, and i was completely enthralled, fascinated and full of wonder....and this movie was my childhood favorite too.
I remember another movie which also made an impact, i forget the name but perhaps it was 'The blue bird' or something like that. i will have to look it up.
Then there was Sound of Music that i watched with my grandfather, and he really loved this movie and was always happy to watch it again and again, and i really loved this movie too. Then there was Mary Poppins, which again brings back so many momories. I hardly remember the movie now though, i need to watch it again. Ah, the childhood momories!! I remember waking up early in the morning, to watch Mr. Rogers Neighbourhood, lol. And Garfield and friends too. Ah, the magic and innocence of childhood!!
The blue bird- the Shirley Temple movie?
shareI fully agree with the OP. I like many other kid movies, too, but none comes close to this. Still, as a grown up, among my most favorite movies of all time.
Animal crackers in my soup
Monkeys and rabbits loop the loop
Same here, this movie holds a special place in my heart and I actually watched it in Germany (Grew up in Europe).
I had the biggest crush on the childlike princess :)
I think I`m gonna pick up a copy of a DVD and watch it again soon
4 or 5 when I saw it; sister saw it at a friend's, introduced me; I introduced babysitter. Wanted to rent all the time we went to video store. It was cool. Recoouperating from surgery in '94, (13) saw it through new eyes. (happened to be a stormy night). Excited it is coming to big screen September 20016 (opens 9/4)
