That was easily the most upsetting bit. Worse than Artax getting drowned.

It's not "sci-fi", it's SF!

Worse than Artax getting drowned.

No.

Most powerful line in the whole movie.

reply

This one line is the reason I am re watching this movie... I was talking to my girlfriend and this movie came up regarding the luck dragon, and I remembered this line. Best line ever :) .. so now I'm watching the whole movie again :)

The strength of the wolf is in the pack; the strength of the pack is in the wolf.

reply

Very powerful.

Straightedge means I'm better than you.

reply

Agreed. Very powerful line.

reply

That line was powerful agreed, but I still to this day think of the line he says about The Nothing, right afterwards:

"Now I'm going to sit here & let It take me away too." The utter sadness, defeat & hopelessness in his voice haunts me to this day.

"I'd say this cloud is Cumulo Nimbus."
"Didn't he discover America?"
"Penfold, shush."

reply

That line had a very profound effect on me back then, and it still does today.

reply

Indeed. And his cute eyes also look so sad when saying that... 😢

Animal crackers in my soup
Monkeys and rabbits loop the loop

reply

Agree - such a powerful, sad and poignant moment in the film which makes you hate even more the "joke"-of-a-character they made of the rockbiter in the third film!

reply

Oh dear god, heart breaking & when Artex died. Jesus I cry for hours, childhood ruined by that scene

reply

I can't think of The NeverEnding Story without thinking of that line.
