Face rotting makes no sense

Even if we confine this talk to just this movie, the robot's rotting face makes no sense. It rots really fast, but also, it's supposed to be GROWN 'for the cyborgs', as Kyle says. They are DESIGNED to 'not rot', aren't they? Why wouldn't they be?

Also, it's supposed to be an infiltration unit - how can it infiltrate if the face doesn't last for more than a couple of days before it starts to rot and smell? Yeah, Skynet PAINSTAKINGLY researches, manufactures, tests and perfects 'bad breath', but does NOTHING about ROTTING CORPSE STENCH that happens after this 'synthetic skin' rots in two days?

WHAT?

Sidenote: Think about all the other movies that carry the name 'Terminator' - where's the rotting face there?

But there's more!

It's supposed to be able to travel in time exactly BECAUSE the 'synthetic flesh' is somehow 'alive' (not explained).

OK, but why is it rotting, then? LIVING THINGS DO NOT ROT!

This movie is trying to have it both ways - or 'all ways' - and it contradicts its own explanations by doing that. It can travel in time because it's alive - but it rots, because it's just a dead robot..

YOU CAN'T HAVE IT BOTH WAYS!

What good is infiltration unit, whose face rots after a day or two and what's the point of all that 'bad breath' research..

(how does Kyle know they have 'bad breath', by the way? Does he have time for smellification research scouting in that hectic war against the machines?? Do no other smells interfere, is the air that clean and pure in that constant war, with probably oiled, gas-powered machines roaming around all day and night..?)

..if your skin starts smelling like a 'dead cat', and very powerfully so? (The Janitor that smokes a CIGAR, if I remember, can smell the stench through a distance, door and that cigar smoke!)

So you MAKE SURE every infiltration robot has a 'bad breath' module installed, but you do NOTHING about the skin smelling like a dead cat in two days. Rrrrriiiiight.

WHAT kind of robotic logic is THAT supposed to be? Is Skynet out of its microchipped mind?!

As you can see.. movies just don't make any sense in this world, I just can't understand the reason.

I wonder where Skynet got the idea that 'bad breath' is a must, but english can sound like thick Austrian accent..what a way to allocate resources!

I wonder if Skynet made many variations of 'bad breath' smell - sometimes it's more 'minty', other times more 'dog turdy', then there's 'hangover special' and the all-popular 'ashtray mix'.

WHAT kind of friggin' infiltration unit designer thinks BAD BREATH is how people authenticate each other?

No bad breath? MUST BE AN INFILTRATOR ROBOT!! SHOOT IT!!

That one stinks like a dead cat through door and cigars? That must be a real human being, leave him alone.

WHAT was Skynet thinking?!

Makes NO sense...

you're gonna hate Genisys

1: time travel
2: time travel
3: time travel
4: no time travel
5: ...yikes

Skynet was thinking we want a film which is about the special effects, and a basic storyline to tie it all together

The novelisation (if I remember correctly) notes that the pump responsible for blood circulation was damaged by gunfire, leading to necrosis of the organic tissue.

OMG maybe the janitor was just being a jerk about the dead cat stuff u know. And um just maybe Kyle actually smelled the Terminator's stinky breath before lol.
