Not a bad film but..

I really hated the constant references it made to superman.
It's not the reference itself that makes it bad, but the obvious intention of it all.

It seems that the film makers had very little confidence in their own movie that they had to CONSTANTLY remind viewers of it's connection to the more popular Superman movies of the time in order to generate interest.

"Hey.. do you know those awesome Superman movies?? Well this movie has something to do with those movies .. so it must be just as awesome".

It was getting annoying and it seems they were so desperate to generate interest in the movie that they had to pull that interest from another more successful/popular movie of the time.

If I am not mistaken, the original intention was to actually have Superman in this film, at least for a bit. But that fell apart, though the references remained. The worlds of Supergirl and Superman are tied at the hip, so I didn't mind the references so much. That's like griping about the Marvel films having all of those Avengers connections. It's all a part of the same universe. It's just too bad that the Salkinds couldn't ever get a handle on the Super-franchise and guide it to success with the subsequent sequels and spinoffs.

Whose idea was it for the word "Lisp" to have an "S" in it?

I always liked it. I thought it was adorable how she looks up to him in hopes of one day meeting him.
