Has it been confirmed if that is or isn't Jim Carrey in this movie? There is a scene before the wedding when Hanks is telling all of the people about his gf breaking up with him as they enter the church. Clint Howard had a small role in that scene as well. One of the actors looks just like Jim and at that time Jim was an up and coming comedian in Canada/U.S. and probably had ties to Eugene Levy and John Candy.

I've just watched this scene and saw no one that resembled Jim Carrey. Maybe I can't see the woods for the trees, what the line where you see him?

The guy you're referring to is played by Rick Dano (Royal Dano's son, Hutch Dano's dad).

He does resemble Carrey a bit, esp. since you really only see him from the side.
