I think it's sad...
that poor John Candy was left without his brother, and you could see they were close, without any explanation or goodbyes. I hate that part of the movie.
shareBut he was the one who encouraged his brother to be with her. He told his brother to be with the woman who makes you happy. It doesn't happen for everyone to get the chance to be that happy. He would've understood being left behind. But you are right, it is a little sad.
