That Allan is supposedly 'so much in love' with Madison.
Prior to his losing her, I saw no real indication of this. It looked like pure lust to me.

I'd say this cloud is Cumulo Nimbus.
Didn't he discover America?

He has always loved her since his encounter as a kid. Remember the scene that he loved that mermaid water fountain? It's a romance years in the making and consumed in a week.
