This was filmed at Fort Chaffee, just outside Fort Smith, Arkansas. The fort has had many uses since WWII, including a poplular filming location used to not only for this film but also Biloxi Blues and Tuskegee Airmen. However, it was also the site of one of the most iconic images on the 20th century, it is where Elvis Presley recieved his 1st military haircut.
