Our school systems have failed, parents have failed, people having the ability to put situations into a historical context no longer exists, and not being able to realize the different between two people being drunk and having consensual sex as opposed to one person taking advantage of a drunk person is lost on the original poster. In this instance the question of rape wouldn't come up as consentuality would not be hard to prove since this girl spent most of her time drunk and loose. Next we can nail her for poisoning (the birth control pill), public intox, delinquincy of a minor and possibly grand theft it they want to pursue the not so difficult proposition that SHE stole the Royce.
The fact that an 18 year old girl can have sex with a 14 year old boy while he’s passed out, and you consider him the rapist should tell you how messed up your view is. The problem wasn’t back then, it’s now.

Same with Long Duk Dong ... no way would that caricature pass muster these days. Even back then, though, a couple of (progressive / forward thinking / "woke") critics pointed out that the GONNNGGGG that plays for Dong is comparable to playing "Camptown Races" on a guitar whenever showing a black character.
I'm Asian American myself, and his scenes made me really uncomfortable. But I was in my teens back when the movie came out, and what's clearly date rape today (by both Ted AND Caroline, against each other) did NOT strike me as problematic back then.
Guess we can be grateful for some progress.
