Cool

Of the main 80's Hughes movies (Sixteen Candles, Breakfast Club, St Elmo's Fire) this was kind of my least favorite. I think the dumb sound effects, the Long Duk Dong character was totally inessential, and little things like guys with jock straps on their heads on the bus, a girl giving her underpants to anyone, a guy letting his girlfriend get date raped, and now I wonder how they got 2 actors sitting on a glass dining room table without it breaking.

Still, it's lighthearted enough and you get to peer into how we really wanted to be in the 80's! The soundtrack was awesome too. Too bad about the retro racism. It's not as bad as Breakfast at Tiffany's but it's in the ballpark.

The comical Oriental guy was one of the best things about the movie. Too bad people today get all wokehurt over it.

PS: unclench your sphincters, it just means "eastern".
