Have your parents ever forgotten your birthday?

I feel bad for anyone who's gone through this lol

I know this contrivance is fundamental to the movie, but the idea that both parents, both sets of grand parents and her siblings forget her birthday, because they are all just so excited about the dopey sister's wedding is just ridiculous.🐭

I love this movie, but you are right, there is no way both parents, three siblings and two sets of grandparents forget about your 16th birthday.

I know some families make a much bigger deal out of birthdays than others. Birthdays were always a big deal in my family and even if someone in the family was getting married, we would do something special for whoever's birthday is was.

My folks actually did when I turned 20. I was living on the other side of the country so it wasn't like I was in constant visual contact with my folks. That would have been far worse. My dad did call me the next day I think. I believe I was really annoyed about it at the time but honestly I had totally forgotten about this until I saw your thread.

The grave is no bar to my call.

Yes. My parents and brothers forgot my birthday about 4 years ago. It did hurt my feelings. They did remember a few days after. I guess it doesn't really matter, but stuff like this does happen!

Nobody ever acknowledges mine, but I'm use to it. Lol

My deadbeat father didn't even bother to remember what my name was half the time. He had no idea when my birthday was, or even what year I was born or how old I was. I grew up in the same house as him, those things just weren't considered meaningful or important by him. Thankfully I told him to *beep* off and die the moment I was able to live independently, so now I don't have to remember his either. :)

The mirror... it's broken.
Yes, I know. I like it that way. Makes me look the way I feel.
