''Considered to be one of fifteen films that changed American cinema.''

Read this on the 'Did You Know' section of this film's IMDb page.

Um, the movie was an OK/pleasant enough watch... but HOW exactly did it change American cinema? I'm honestly wondering here. 

Where does fantasy end and reality begin?

I'm just guessing here, but it was the first John Hughes High School Kids Smash, and the rest of the decade is filled with either more JH films, or knockoffs, because they brought kids to theaters in droves.

I'm sure it didn't necessarily say it changed it forever, or for the better did it?

Again, I can on
Y guess

If you have to ask the question I don't think you'll ever get it no matter how much explanation is used. Might as well ask why Star Wars changed American cinema.

reply

Amen, resident.

Schrodinger's cat walks into a bar and doesn't.

if you cant answer the question, that kind of suggests you dont have a good answer, truth is that this movie changed nothing, and star wars only changed movies by starting trend for brainless special effects overwhelming everything else
