Question about the Doctor (SPOILERS)

Well I assume he's a doctor, he wears a white labcoat throughout the movie.

How does he die?
All I remember is him coughing real hard and falling down dead.

Was he poisoned, or was he sick?

It's been YEARS since I've seen this movie (and several parts of it disturbed me as a child...the head poking out of the sand....the assassination of the king....the death of the doctor...the birds attacking the helicopter...I remember the parts that disturbed me well enough, huh, lol).

You must mean Grizzard, who is a doctor, of a sort. He's a geologist. Anyway, yes, he dies. He has a cough, likely due to the fact he chain smokes. Otwani gives him some medication for the cough but it's actually poison, and he dies.
