Wallpaper went out in the 70s
I find it funny watching Lewis and Gilbert putting up wallpaper inside their frat house instead of just painting the walls, what a bunch of old-fashioned nerds!

shareWallpaper was most certainly part of the '80's. When we moved into our new house in 1983 (the year Revenge of the Nerds would have been filmed) every room in the house was wallpapered. And there was nothing '70's about it. It was the latest in home fashion. I remember throughout the '80's when my parents wanted to repaper a room, they'd get these huge books from interior decorators filled with swatches of different patterns. I'm sorry, but you don't know the '80's if you don't think wallpaper was very much a part of that decade, andersb-36022.
sharewhen we moved into our house in 2014 the kitchen was fully wallpapered.
shareThough my wife and I bought our current, rehabbed house that same year, our kitchen was painted a light gray above the section where a new tile backsplash was installed. We repainted that section a softer, shade of off-white shade and used an accent color for the soffit along the ceiling, but we could have just as easily wallpapered those sections. We noticed from having gone into at least 100 other homes before settling on this one that wallpaper was back (and impressive) in new and rehabbed homes in 2014.
