Did not like the actress for adult Deborah

A major meh, in all aspects. Definitely needed someone prettier.

I feel a little bad about it, but I agree. The young Deb had great cheekbones and smile, while the adult looks a little jowly and seems indifferent in appearance. Not her fault, though. They gave her the role, maybe they didn't have options.
But considering Claudia Cardinale was in OUATIT West, Leone should have been able to entice a better looking woman.

Not only that, but I don't think she had much chemistry with De Niro at all. I never bought the fact that she loved him, or was waiting for him for all those years.

Elizabeth McGovern is the weak link in the principal cast, no doubt about it. She isn't wooden or downright bad in the role, but lacks the charisma or chemistry with De Niro which would have made the role soar.
