If this is the sequal to 2 and 3

Why can't Shô Kosugi play the same character in each film. Otherwise I dont see why he needs a cameo in each one if he is gonna be a different person in each one.

lol, yeah the series is really screwed up. Each film really isn't a sequel to one another. They just all happen to have ninja. Calling this film Ninja III: The Domination confuses a lot of people cause there is no story connection to Revenge of the Ninja which in turn has no connection to Enter the Ninja. Still, I love em, even if Sho Kosugi play a different charecter in each film.

In the first film, Sho Kosugi's character Hasagawa was an evil ninja who dies at the end. At the time this movie was made, I don't think the producers of it, (Golan and Globus/aka Canon Films), knew what they had or that it would become as popular as it did, so they didn't really plan on making any others. By the time they found out, Sho's character had already been killed off, so they couldn't use him in the next movie as the same character. And in ninja 2 and 3, he was the hero, not the villain, so it would have been redundant to use him as the same bad guy in all three movies. Does that make sense?

reply

No that doesn't make sense because we learn in this movie that only a ninja can kill another ninja. So Hasegawa never should have died in the 1st movie

'Revenge of the Ninja' and 'Ninja III' aren't sequels to 'Enter the Ninja'. They are more just 3 stories about ninjas, set as a sort of trilogy if you will.
