Why is this rated so low?
It's pure entertainment and there's hardly ever a dull moment. What more could you want from one of these things?

I agree. This movie is better than a 4.8. It should at least have a 5.x rating.
I think for a lot of people today, this movie is too hokey, the special effects too obvious, and the action scenes too obviously choreographed. I don't mind any of that, though. It's vastly more entertaining for me than most movies today.

I remember as a young kid watching this over and over on HBO and loving it! Haven't seen it since then so I may try and find it.

shareBecause back in the 80s, most people refused to recognize a female in the lead role of an action movie
shareI read recently that Sho Kosugi was not happy at all about being shoved back into a supporting role after having been the lead in Revenge of the Ninja. I also think he didn't find Lucinda Dickey to be a credible lead for a ninja film.
That's why this was the last film that he did with Cannon and for his next movie he jumped ship and went to Trans World Entertainment.
Sounds to me that Cannon was racist towards Asians, so I don't blame Sho for leaving
