Ending Spoiler Question

NOTE: I already know I'm going to get a lot of answers to this question that are going to say "It's just an 80's horror, and I'm not supposed to take it seriously", but ever since I saw this movie, I've had one question:

**SPOILERS**

Was the killer's mother's corpse supposed to be possessed, and that's why she returned to life at the end?

PS: DVD release, please!

The killer says that she faked her death at one point near the end

I dont remember that line. But then I havent seen this in years.

DVD release? Please?

It is on DVD. The Italian DVD can be had quite readily on ebay. I think it unlikely a movie that was shelved for two years before getting a theatrical release will turn up in the US at least.
