How does HK feature in all this?

Yes...the way there are about 3-4 cuts and as many dubs is a bit tiresome and off-putting to say the least, but then this is anime?

I am Chinese and watched DYRL in Chinese when i was a kid. I'm also into anime/manga, so i'm used to original japanese dubbing with subtitles. I have two Chinese copies from HK. One with just Chinese dubbing presumably taped from some other copy or from TV some 20 years ago. Another i recently bought from a Chinese online retailer, released a few years ago. Both in Chinese, but with different dubbing. Which is closer to the original? I'm tempted to say the older version. I'm even more tempted to say that this is probably the source for the western releases, all known for having poor English dubbing with Chinese (HK) involvement. Chinese dubbing is usually accurate. Trust me, I watch enough anime in both languages, so the laughable dubbing might simply be the result of poor English (I'm British BTW). I might be wrong. Just my 2 cents worth!
