I thought it was funny how the date of the Zentraedi-Human Peace treaty in the movie was Sept 11. I was bored and only noticed it when I was rewatching it. I don't really think there is a conspiracy, but think it's a weird coincidence especially since it came from 20+ years ago when Reagan was in office.

Actually, it was November 11th, at 11am... Anyone who remembers high school history at all (or perhaps even Elementary school Social Studies) should know the significance of that date and time... L8r.
