Are There Any Lovers Of This Movie Anywhere?

Dear Fellow Movie Lovers

I remember seeing this movie on HBO years ago in 1986 when it first premiered.I loved it.I thought it was one of THE BEST Teen romantic comedy films of the 1980's.It had everything you could ask for.It had music,it had comedy,it had romance(i.e.forbidden love a la Romeo & Juliet),it had non-stop action and it had rivalries and party scenes. It was THE ULTIMATE Teen flick. What more could you ask for in a teen romantic styled comedy with a little Shakespeare added to sweeten it?

I also recently found this movie on Ebay for $10.00 that I had the opportunity to purchase when "Buy It Now" was an option.I am now thrilled to finally have this classic teen romantic comedy in my video library.I am now only hoping for a DVD release of this much underrated teen flick. Why?Because a DVD release would be "IT!" IMHO.

I am also looking for the soundtrack album. In the end credits,it stated that the original soundtrack album was released on MCA Records.Does anyone know where I can find this?I have been looking everywhere and I have not succeeded. Was the soundtrack album ever even released?I would appreciate some information.Thanks.

If there any lovers of this movie anywhere,I want to hear from all of you.It would be great to meet other fans of this most misunderstood and much underrated teen flick.Again,I want to hear from you all.Thanks.Sincerely Frank R.Schoonover

Yeah, I was thinking about back in the day when I was a little kid and I'd sneek a peek at a bunch of these late night HBO movies. I'm surprised no one else is posting here. I guess this movie is a forgotten gem. I'm gonna put this on the list of other movies of that era I used to watch like:
Hardbodies
Hardbodies 2
Losin' It
Fraternity Vacation
Surf 2
Spring Break
Party Camp
Where the Boys Are '84
Bachelor Party
Porky's movies
Jocks
Private Resort

I happen to have at least two of the movies on your list. One on video. The other on DVD,though it is a copy.Below are the ones that I have and the formats that I have them in:

Jocks(VHS)
Surf 2(DVD,but it is a copy. The only country to have a legit DVD is in Italy)

I have seen Bachelor Party and Fraternity Vacation on HBO as well.Fraternity Vacation is noteable for featuring Stephen Geoffries, who later played Evil Ed Thompson in Fright Night and Hoax Wilmouth in 976-EVIL.The latter was noteable for the directorial debut of actor Robert(Freddy Krueger)Englund.Bachelor Party featured Tom Hanks and Adrian Zmed.

Here is another forgotten gem that I saw on video years ago and have in my video library:

The Virgin Queen Of St.Francis High

Have you ever seen that?Like Jocks,it was distributed by Crown International Pictures. But the video distributors were different. The Virgin Quenn Of St.Francis High was distributed by Media Home Entertainment and Jocks was distributed by RCA/Columbia Pictures Home Video.

Here are a some other misunderstood gems:

The Wild Life
Class Of 1984
Class Of 1999
Pieces
Gleaming The Cube
Hot To Trot
Gung Ho
Hard Rock Zombies
Thunder Alley
The Exterminator
Exterminator 2

The vast majority of these I have on VHS.I do happen to have Class Of 1984, Class Of 1999 and The Exterminator on DVD.

Again,I am still hoping for a DVD release of Lovelines. Thanks for posting.Sincerely Frank R.Schoonover

Frank, I fell in love with this movie back in 1986 as well and have been looking for the soundtrack ever since too. I've looked everywhere on both coasts for it and have come up empty, so I'm thinking the soundtrack was never released commercially.

I loved this movie too, I would watch as much as I could when it was on HBO. I found it on video last year through Amazon.....would love to have the soundtrack!

Hi! I've been a huge fan of this movie since '86 also and have been scouring since to find merch. I have the movie transferred to DVD, one of the movie posters (there are two versions I have found), and the press kit. There are lobby cards and 8x10's every so often on ebay, and the occasional "Souvenier" single, but I really don't think they put any money into the soundtrack, which I find a bit odd seeing as the movie is heavily music oriented. I was so deperate to listen to "Totally Gone" on my ipod that I popped the DVD in my computer and recorded it from there!

BTW, those movies you listed as trying to find, alot of them have been popping up on DVD (like Fraternity Vacation) and a good source for those kind of movies is Anchor Bay Entertainment and Lions Gate. You can email them suggestions of movies to release and check out their "coming soon" section.

Hope this is a bit of a help since I've also been on a wild goose chase for 21 years!

WOW!!! I can't believe you mentioned Gimme An F. These 2 movies are what me the person I am today. LOL I looked all over for ANYONE to mention Don Michael Paul and the "audition" scene in which he strips down to his tighty whiteys. I had the hugest crush on him AND Stephen Shellen in Gimme an F in the wet underwear scene. Ahhh Those were the days!!

Yes I absolutely love this movie!! I am hoping for the DVD release also. I mean they released Dance Until Dance on DVD, I didn't think it was as great as Lovelines. You could try looking on limewire to see if anyone has it on mp3.

I watched this movie in the 80's along with Last American Virgin, Breakfast Club, Sixteen Candles, Gimme an F, and Stewardess School. The 80's had some amazing movies like Porky's and Fast Times at Ridgemont High.
