In the book, instead of three women, theres four, I wonder why they didn't put Kate in the book? I mean I haven't read the book in forever and now I'm reading it again and I always wondered why they didn't put Kate in the tv series

Well, it was already a very long, complicated movie so I'm sure they thought by eliminating one of the girls they would be cutting the running time and simplifying the story.
For Connie n Raymond Marble, it was the beginning of the end!
I guess they had to cut a character because the movie was already quite long, and Kate (at least in the book) seemed to be the least interesting character.
