One scene gave the secret away

In hindsight, you can see many clues that hint to who Lily's mother was.

But the scene I wish they had left out of the mini-series was the one where the girl goes back alone to see the doctor and he says something like 'out of all of you, you are the one I least suspected'.

To me, that gave it away right there.

Same here. They made her seem like the most wholesome of the bunch so when the doctor said that line I was 80% sure it was her. I agree they should've left that line out.

Don't be ridiculous! Jack would never die without telling me

Me too. I new it was Bess at that point but I was still Shocked at the end.

Macklin Crew

Yep. That give it away 90% for me. I knew for sure when she framed the picture that was drawn. Shows she has sentiment for her.

When I first watched the miniseries back when I was 11 years old, I thought Pagan and Abdullah were her parents. It was funny when I watched the sequel and found out that I was half right LOL (even though I thought the sequel had lots of issues).

In the scene where Dr. Geneste tells the girls that "Miss Lace," who ever she is, "will be glad to know that her pregnancy will not show until after she's graduated," watch carefully how the three of them react. Pagan and Maxine look at each other and react joyfully, while Judy has a quiet, somber expression of relief. Well-played by all three actresses, and something I didn't notice until at least the third time I watched it.
