Best film oscar ?
How on earth did this not win the best film oscar when the grossly historically inaccurate conspiracy theory Amadeus did ?
shareWhile I also hate "Amadeus" and love "The Killing Fields", I have to say that most of the second half of TKF is also "grossly historically inaccurate". Rather than escape from the KR with the leader's child, Pran actually stayed in Cambodia until after the Vietnamese invasion, became "mayor" of his hometown and only fled when the Vietnamese began to suspect he had pro-USA sympathies. Had the makers stuck to the real story rather than gone for a more dramatic conclusion, the movie would have been even better.
