familiar films and ADR

Is it me or when I go back and rewatch these childhood favorites, what I start to notice more and more of is the obvious ADR, especially on some of the best lines.

This film, particularly the first half, has a ton of it. For instance look at the scene on the templar bridge "Is it a lack of ships, commander?"... and when the princess is squirming around ordering Jason to put her down.

Otherwise I have to say it holds up pretty well even if most of the jokes fall flat. The 80's effects hold a lot of charm especially in today's overrendered sci fi market.

Ive noticed it A LOT on 80s movies during outdoor scenes.. theyve either gotten better at retrieving location audio or better at doing voice over. Some of the older voiceovers were ridiculous and dont match up with the original audio, alternating between phrases that were obviously recorded on a sound stage and drenched with huge amounts of reverb, then back to location sound from an outdoor area.
